Day 1: Las Vegas

Motor through the Great Mojave Desert on the way to Las Vegas for three nights at the beautiful Golden Nugget Casino Resort. Settle in before your Welcome Dinner and the Freemont Light Experience outside your hotel. (D)

Day 2: Lake Mead Luncheon Cruise / Hoover Dam

Drive to Lake Mead to embark on The Desert Princess, an authentic, Mississippi-style paddlewheeler. During your luncheon cruise, you’ll hear great stories of the construction of mighty Hoover Dam. (B,L)

Day 3: Grand Canyon West

Today you’ll see what everyone’s been talking about–the “Skywalk.” It’s a horseshoeshaped glass bridge jutting out 70 feet from the Grand Canyon that lets you look down in the Canyon 4,000 feet below. Get your picture taken on the Skywalk with Eagle Point in the background! Lunch is  included overlooking the canyon or at Hualapai Ranch, a Westernstyle village. You can also visit the Indian Village depicting the dwellings of Native AmericanTribes such as the Hopi, Plains Navajo and more. (B,L)

Day 4: Calico / Home

Drive down “The Strip” to see the fabulous Vegas hotels. Then head for Primm, NV, for a break at Buffalo Bill’s Casino. Later, continue on to Calico Ghost Town, an 1881 remainder of the largest silver strike in California. When silver prices went down, Calico became a ghost town. Explore the town and have lunch on your own at one of the three restaurants there. Then, head home with fond tales of these desert gems. (B)
