Day 1: Denver
Fly to upbeat Denver to overnight at the Holiday Inn Select.

Day 2: Rapid City / Stagecoach Museum
Follow the route of the Cheyenne-to-Deadwood Stage Line to Lusk for a visit to the Stagecoach Museum. Then, head to Rapid City, South Dakota, to spend the next five nights at the Rushmore Plaza Hotel. (B)

Day 3: Badlands
Visit Badlands National Park and the amazing Wall Drug Store. Then, tour “The Journey,” which offers Western Great Plains history from the perspectives of both the Lakota people and the pioneers. End the day with a Welcome Dinner. (B,D)

Day 4: Fort Hays Chuckwagon Dinner & Show
A city tour will show you the highlights. Then, you’ll enjoy free time before you head to Fort Hays, where “Dances with Wolves” was filmed, for a chuckwagon dinner and entertainment. (B,D)
Day 5: Mt. Rushmore
Learn about the creation of Mt. Rushmore at the Borglum Historical Center before viewing the granite 60-foot-tall presidential busts. You’ll also see the Crazy Horse Memorial designed to honor the living heritage of North American Indians. This evening you’ll view the impressive Mt. Rushmore illumination ceremony. (B)

Day 6: Deadwood
Relive the history of gold mining at the Black Hills Mining Museum in Lead. Then, a local guide will take you on a narrated driving tour of Deadwood with a visit to Tatanka with its larger than life bronze bison sculptures. Enjoy dinner at the Midnight Star. (B,D)

Days 7 & 8: Cheyenne / Custer State Park
A jeep ride will show you the free-roaming buffalo in Custer State Park before lunch at the State Game Lodge. Then, enjoy a Farewell Dinner and an overnight in Cheyenne, Wyoming, at Little America. Fly home from Denver. (B,L,D • B)
